The heart can't feel what eyes don't see
(another, from the allegory folder)

What would you think about a gang that ambushed you, and beat you up and left you for dead, for no other reason except that you were the first one to round the corner? Well, if you ask a friend of mine, who was pounded with a bat as another random victim of gang violence, you might be surprised.

I could not believe that he wasn't angry while I was being told the story. I was in a rage about it, but he was only concerned with passing the ketchup at dinner. "What is the deal with you?" I asked, in disbelief, "Why aren't you angry, cause I am ready for a little overdue revenge about right now?"

"Well, the funny thing is that I can't remember" he explained. "I don't remember two weeks before the incident, and I can't recall two weeks after. I can't be angry, because I have no recollection." Then he laughed, "The really weird thing is that I could see these guys on the street and not even recognize them. I might help them change a tire, or even buy them a cup of coffee, even though they almost killed me."

Then it hit me ...

Jeremiah 31:34
"For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more."

I have cursed God. I have mocked, and raised my fist in violent anger towards heaven. And all I know now, is that God won't stop loving me.
I have sinned, and if He saw me on the street ... He would buy me a cup of coffee or help me change the tire, because I have been reconciled through the blood of Christ, and all I had to do is reluctantly ask for Him to come into my heart and turn my wicked heart toward righteousness, by making me new.

God remembers my sins NO MORE.
